Wiper Party has given former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama 14 days to show cause why he should not face disciplinary action for allegedly violating the party’s constitution.
“Wiper Demoractic Movement-Kenya has initiated disciplinary proceedings against former Machakos Sen. Johnstone Muthama over alleged insubordination and defiance to the party’s ideologies. The party has given Sen. Muthama 14 days ultimatum to respond to the said claims,” reads an excerpt of the statement released by the party on their Twitter handle.
In a written communication to the vocal politician, the Hon. Kalonzo- led party asked Muthama to explain his actions failure to which he would face dire consequence including being expelled from the party.
The disciplinary proceedings come just a few days after the party signed a corporation agreement with the ruling Jubilee Party in a ceremony that the former Senator conspicuously missed.
The former Senator has been seen to be pushing for a partnership with Deputy President William Ruto. Just a few days after the post-election agreement between Wiper and Jubilee parties, Hon. Muthama was seen in the company of former Senators Bonny Khalwale and Hassan Omar who are close associates of the Deputy President.
Muthama who has been a fierce critic of the Jubilee administration since its election in 2013, has previously pronounced that he would lead a large section of Ukambani leaders to a pact with DP Ruto ahead of the 2022 elections.
