A man from Miti Mbli in Kitale Trans Nzoia County was yesterday 3rd July 2022 stabbed to death by his wife over Ksh 100 bob.
In an incident that shocked the villagers, it is reported the altercations started when the deceased had told his wife he had intended to buy cigarettes with the money, but his wife had planned to use the money buy supper.
Before the incident, the couples were heard quarreling loud enough for their neighbors to hear.
The woman whose identity is not known is said to have gone to the kitchen to grab a knife with intention of stabbing their little child but she was stopped by the deceased.
In the middle of the circus, the wife ended up stabbing her husband in the chest.
The area residents after learning what transpired, immediately ruffed up the woman before she was rescued by the police.
A Nyumba Kumi official Paul Barasa told Nation that he was heading to the Miti Mbili area when he saw a crowd of people beating up the woman who had allegedly stabbed her husband using a kitchen knife.
The casualty was rushed to a nearby local dispensary where he was administered first aid before an ambulance took him to the Kitale County Hospital.
On arrival, the man was unfortunately pronounced dead. The woman is being held at Matisi Police Station awaiting to be arraigned on Monday. The man’s body was moved to Kitale County Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting a postmortem.
