Celebrated Former Citizen Tv news Presenter Janet Mbugua has turned down Gatundu South Member of Parliament (MP) Moses Kuria’s offer to be his Deputy Governor for Kiambu County. while acknowledging the fact that Kuria had given her the chance to deputize him for Kiambu County Gubernatorial race, Janet said she isn’t in active politics as of now.
”Indeed, active engagement in politics isn’t for me at the moment” tweeted Janet in response to Kuria’s offer.
However, Janet has offered herself to work with the vocal Kiambu politician in other activities more so opportunities related to women and girls
”I remain available in support of quality service to the good people of Kiambu & all of Kenya, more so vulnerable women & girls” she added
Kuria, without disclosing the name of other competitors of his deputy governor position, said he was shattered that Janet could not take up the opportunity even after scoring the highest marks for the slot.
”I am shattered. After scoring the highest marks in the talent search for Kiambu Deputy Governor, Janet Mbugua will not be taking up the job due to unforeseen personal emergencies that she has to attend to in the immediate term” tweeted Kuria
Kuria is running for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat and will be vying for Chama Cha Kazi (CCK), which is the party leader. CCK supports the Kenya kwanza coalition led by Deputy president Dr. William Ruto and Musalia Mudavadi Led ANC
