Kenya Kwanza Presidential running mate Rigathi Gachagua on Tuesday said that he will recover his frozen money if they win the presidency in the coming August general elections.
Rigathi said once he gets his money back, he will use the money to build a nice beautiful house in Kieni.
The MP who was speaking at a political meeting in Mathira said that his new house will have a Nyama Choma base for men and while the women who will visit his wife, will be given porridge.
“You know this government froze my account. When we take power, I will take my money back and I will come and build a home here in Kieni so that you can come to visit me. I will build a nice house and also a nice place where men can grill meat and also drink what we drink as we talk,” Gachagua said.
“For the women, we will have a nice place for them where they will be coming to visit his wife as they drink porridge while singing and dancing.” he added.
In 2020, the Mathira legislature three personal bank accounts were frozen on suspicions of money laundering at the Rafiki Microfinance Bank
Gachugua and other Nyeri County officials were being investigated for claims of colluding with Nyeri county and the state department of Irrigation through his companies and close associates to receive money suspected to be proceeds of corruption.
Senior resident magistrate Muthoni Nzibe allowed the application by the Assets Recovery Agency (ARA) and ordered the freezing of all accounts for several days which meant Gachagua was not able to do any transactions.
