Last Thursday news of the disappearance of Daniel Mbolu Musyoka an IEBC Returning Officer for Embakasi East surfaced. In an article by Wembe yesterday we revealed to you that the body was already found.
Musyoka’s body was found by herders on the bed of a dry seasonal river in Kilombero Forest at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro Kajiado County.
The body lay necked with nothing but a Maasai shuka and a track suid laid in distance. The body had fresh bruises on the neck to suggest strangulation and the lower limbs were swollen.
He was taken to Loitokitok Sub County Mortuary and an autopsy has just been concluded. The results show that he was strangled to death. Speaking on the same Loitokitok Police Commander Shadrack Kiprop Ruto had the following to say. “We suspect the deceased was being held by his tormentors for a few days after his disappearance, only to kill him later. If the body had been dumped the day he went missing, it would have begun decomposing or it would have been devoured by wild animals.”
Police have already begun investigations into his death and will be seeking to use his missing phone data. The data indicate that Musyoka’s phone was switched off in Mihango, Utawala, one hour after his disappearance.
Musyoka is among IEBC officers who were said to have been profiled in the just concluded elections.
Musyoka worked in the IEBC Loitokitok office before being transferred to Embakasi East. Musyoka until his death had worked with IEBC for 13 years.
