Diana Chepkwony, a Meru University student who was rescued from the hands of evil people in Saudi Arabia has officially resumed school.
Diana whose images went viral on social media while being mistreated in Saudi Arabia differed from her studies In August 2018 due to financial issues and later traveled to Saudi Arabia in a search of greener pastures.
She was gladly welcomed by the Meru University Vice Chancellor Dr. Ramanus Odhiambo and her fellow students on Wednesday 14th September 2022.
“If we could change your experience, we would. That’s why we are dedicating this morning to tell you that we love you, we stand with you and we want to walk with you,” Romanus said.
“We will have you join the university to focus on the program you selected right before deferring your studies,” he added.
Diana went ahead to thank everyone involved in her rescue as well as the institution for allowing her to finish her education in a safe setting.
“I thank Bomet County for fulfilling their promise and the Meru University family for taking me back. I now have the chance to pursue my career and live to my full potential,” Diana said.
As the Bomet Governor Professor Hillary Barchok will be paying her school fees, Meru Univesity will also absorb her in the work-study program and provide free accommodation.
