Nakuru County gubernatorial race has attracted 6 aspirants and as the election days beckon, the duel becomes hot and hotter.
The 6 candidates are Incumbent Lee Kinyanjui of Jubilee and Susan Kihika of UD. The other 4 who are vying on an independent ticket are Elijah Chege, Stanley Karanja, Munyia Waiyaki, and James Kiarie.
However, Elijah Chege’s Entry Into Nakuru Politics has made the contest even hotter and hotter, giving the two purported front runners, Governor Lee Kinyanjui and Senator Susan Kihika a run for their money.
Chege was last week’s ”man of the match” during Nakuru gubernatorial debate. What also caught the attention of the attendees and the county at large was his mastery of the English language and the twanging speech he was using.
During his submissions, Chege couldn’t mince his words and took Governor Lee’s head on accusing him of rampant corruption, wastage of resources, and misappropriations of county funds for the newest City in the country.
”When am looking at the general report on county executive report for the year 2020, what really amazes me here, Governor you spend 76 million for foreign travel?. unsupported foreign travel allowances, Irregular contribution to the council of governors, and disclosed bank accounts. Nakuru county has over 50 bank accounts. I don’t know what is that for? Chege revealed.
Chege revealed that during his 100 days in office, if elected 2nd governor of Nakuru, he will commit to empowering Youths Economically and improving their living standards.
