Former Meru Senator Mithika Linturi has lived to his word as promised during that campaign period.
Linturi, an ardent supporter of President William Ruto had promised that he would only shave his hair only if he is sworn in as a President.
He had also advised those who were on the same journey with him to cut their beards to cut them off so that they can help build the nation presentably.
Yesterday 13th, September went to the barber and shaved all the hair in what he termed a symbol of the new era in Kenya.
In his Facebook post, Linturi said that the new government will enable Kenyans to do business without fear of intimidation and blackmail.
“Today Kenya heralds a new political order. Kenya ushers in a new political dispensation under the leadership of my friend, H.E President Dr. William Samoei Ruto.
I promised that on the day President Uhuru Kenyatta hands over to Dr. Ruto and leaves office, I would simultaneously be shaving to signify a new era devoid of political intimidation and blackmail. I have shaved today! Freedom is finally here!” he wrote.
On Sunday while attending a prayer session in Meru, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagau ordered the former Senator to shave his hair ahead of the appointment that President William Ruto might give him in his government.
“Mithika Linturi alisema hatanyoa ndevu mpaka wale watu wanaonyanyasa wengine wameenda nyumbani. Therefore, Mithika Linturi, the moment William Ruto places his Bible down on Tuesday, ensure that you shave your beard within one hour,” he said.
