Kenya Musician and business lady Esther Akoth alias Akothee has come out to dismiss claims by the Kenyans On Twitter (KOT) who claims that she owns an agency that recruits jobless Kenyan ladies for employment in the Middle East.
Akothee sarcastically responded to those spreading fake rumors about her to get their facts right.
“Yes, you are very right. There is no money in music. And I must maintain this rich lifestyle, muzungus, Illuminati and prostitution alone can’t pay my bills. Girls must suffer for me to pay my bills,” she said.
Akothee went ahead to say that she is not the government and she does not have any solution to the problem Kenyan girls in the Gulf are going through.
“I not only Export girls, I also Export grandparents & families suffering in the village, get yours a passport and you are on the next plane,” she continued.
The sad rumors about Akothee recruiting Jobless Kenyan ladies come a day after Diana Chepkemoi, who was enslaved in Saudi Arabia by her employer, arrived in the country.
She said that her arrival was like an escape from the ‘hell’ after several attempts to disengage from her former employer in Riyadh.
“People are suffering there… my friends are suffering there. It is just that my voice was heard and I found support. People there are being mentally tortured, and psychologically tortured. And it is not fair,” she said.
Students from Meru University, where she deferred her studies for employment to find school fees, also received her at the airport.
