The Head of Public Service, Hon. Felix Koskei, today chaired the sixth Principal Secretaries’ Consultative Meeting of 2025 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), affirming his central role in driving coherence, efficiency, and performance across government sectors.
Under his stewardship, the meeting undertook a strategic review of key flagship programmes, notably the Affordable Housing Programme. Hon. Koskei emphasized the urgency of accelerating its implementation, reiterating the government’s pledge to provide dignified housing solutions for millions of Kenyans. He called for tighter interagency collaboration and data-driven execution to eliminate bottlenecks and deliver results.
Equally central to the meeting was the evaluation of the eGovernment procurement rollout. Hon. Koskei underscored the system’s transformative potential in enforcing transparency, combating wastage, and institutionalizing accountability in public resource utilization. He reaffirmed that all ministries and agencies must align with digital procurement protocols within set timelines.
In a forward-looking briefing, Hon. Koskei received status updates on the development of the Kenanie Leather Industrial Park, a national priority aimed at revitalizing the leather sector and positioning Kenya competitively in global manufacturing value chains. He urged swift and coordinated action to ensure timely delivery and job creation.
Preparations for the CHAN 2025 continental football tournament also featured prominently. Hon. Koskei directed that all infrastructure, logistics, and hosting frameworks be finalized with precision and urgency, emphasizing that Kenya’s global image depends on excellence in delivery.
Further, the Head of Public Service reviewed strategies to mainstream the Kenyan diaspora in national development. He recognized their remittances, expertise, and networks as critical assets that must be fully integrated into national planning and investment frameworks.
Hon. Koskei concluded by challenging Principal Secretaries to remain focused, innovative, and disciplined, noting that structural transformation hinges on leadership that is both accountable and visionary.
