Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairman Mr. Wafula Chebukati on Tuesday 9th August told Kenyans to be patient and wait for the Presidential results within the seven days allowed by the law.
He acknowledged that the process has been seamless save for a few hitches in some parts of the country.
“As a commission, we call for patience among Kenyans as we undertake this rigorous exercise and also endeavor to complete this exercise as soon as possible,” he pleaded.
Chebukati thanked Kenyans who turned up to vote as he announced the closure of voting across the country other than the polling center that had been allowed to extend after starting late. Those affected are in Mombasa, Makueni, and Kakamega Counties.
“Voting has now closed in the majority of polling stations except in a few areas in Kakamega, Makueni, Nairobi, and Mombasa because voting started late therefore the time was compensated,” Chebukati said.
