Independent Electoral & Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has proposed Monday 29th August as the new date to conduct elections in Kakamega, Mombasa, and other constituencies that didn’t vote on 9th August 2022.
Speaking at the Bomas Of Kenya on Monday, 22nd 2022, the commission proposed the dates while meeting the candidates.
IEBC had postponed the election in those areas after the ballot papers’ mix-up in Kakamega and Mombasa counties.
Voting for MCAs in Kwa Njenga Embakasi South, Nyaki West ward (North Imenti) had also been pushed.
IEBC had initially pushed the election dates to 23rd August but later changed citing insecurities.
The candidates are allowed to campaign until 48 hours before the elections.
