Media Personality Phelix Odiwuor Kodhe alias Jalang’o has been officially declared the winner of the Lang’ata Parliamentary seat.
Jalang’o who was the Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) candidate in the constituency garnered 38,948 votes against the incumbent and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Nixon Korir who polled 36,836 votes.
On Wednesday 10th Nixon Korir took to his Facebook page to accept the defeat saying that preliminary results indicate that his opponent was leading adding that “Siasa sio chuki”
He thanked Langata residents for according him the opportunity to serve them for a period of five years.
“From the results that we’ve tallied at the Generali center, my competitor Jalango has a lead and I want to congratulate him as he prepares to take the mantle and move Lang’ata forward, he said.
Since Jalang’o announced his dream of joining politics, he has been optimistic that at some point he would fulfill his dreams of becoming a member of parliament and promised major changes in his constituency.
“I am going to be the next MP of Langata. Youths change your votes. Come and vote for us to build a new Langata. I am campaigning for myself. I am very serious, I am the next MP of Langata. Mark this day. I don’t go for things I can’t get. And once I have I said it…. start getting used to your future MP,” he said.
