Joe Ageyo has been appointed Editorial Director at the nation media group. Ageyo will be leading the broadcast division at the NTV.
Reports indicate that the seasoned journalist is taking over from Mr. Joseph Warungu. Reports further indicate that Warungu has resigned from the twin building for personal reasons.
Ageyo will report directly to the Editor-in-Chief with a dotted reporting relationship to the executive director transformation.
Mr. Ageyo, gave an emotional farewell to his colleagues as he prepared to hand over the reins of editorial power to his successor Mr. Linus Kaikai.
“I have had the privilege of leading the most formidable team on Kenyan television, the most diverse team on radio and no doubt a force to reckon with in the digital space too,” Ageyo said in his exit statement.
He added, “It is time to answer to a new calling. True to the Shakespearian wisdom that all the world is but a large stage, a stage where all men and women are merely players; they have their exits and their entrances and one man in his time plays many parts. It is time for me to play another part because like the French say, he who doesn’t advance recedes.”
Prior to his appointment, joe was the Editorial Director at royal media services. He previously worked at KTN as managing Editor and at NTV as head of News Production.
Joe Holds an MSc in environmental governance from Manchester University and a post-graduate diploma in mass communication from the University of Nairobi and a bachelor of agribusiness management, from Egerton University. he also holds a certificate in sustainable management and the environment from the University of Tilburg, the Netherlands and The University of Geneva, respectively. His former position at Citizen tv has already been filled by Linus Kaikai. Â
