In what seems like sibbling rivalry between the roots party leaders, Justina Wamae has clearly picked her side. As we all know Justina was the running mate of George Wajackoyah in the concluded general elections.
Even though the rift between the two was evident as Justina had already said Wajackoyah was supporting Raila Odinga. She also said it was clear which side her boss had taken and also mentioned Ruto as her preferred candidate if things go south.
Former Deputy President William Ruto has received many congratulatory messages after being declared President-Elect. Joining the list is Justina Wamae who congratulated Ruto for his win four days after his victory. Many can say that she was waiting for the spotlight days later but that is not the case as she had her reasons for the wait.
In a statement on her social media account, she said. “Congratulations, H.E President-Elect William Samoei Ruto Deputy President Elect H.E Rigathi Gachagua on your victory. As the representative of Kenyan youth, I will support in any way I can to achieve a financially secure Kenya that is dignified across the globe,”
She continued that. “It has taken me four days listening to arguments from all quotas on whether IEBC was free, fair, and transparent and I can confidently say that the elections were transparent because the polling stations agents who are supreme in this process would have raised an alarm if the presiding officer was off to no good.”
In disagreement with the sentiments of Roots Party that votes were stolen, she said. “So when I see some parties like Roots Party who as a member can confidently say we were disorganized in regards to agents mobilization stating that the votes were stolen is simply preposterous. As future leaders, we need to stop bashing our institutions which in turn translate to inciting the public against constitutionally mandated institutions.’
