After citizen tv unveiled married couples as news anchors over three years ago, another pair of lovebirds are soon going to grace the Kenyan TV screen.
Citizen TV paraded Lulu Hassan and Rashid Abdallah as their new Swahili news presenters, making them the first married duo to anchor news in Kenya. But focus now shift to K24 TV where according to credible sources, the Kijabe street-based media house is in the final touches of unveiling another power and a married couple.
The station has in recent weeks embarked on a hiring spree, among them Mariam Mjahid who is the loving wife to Abulla Ahmed, a top news anchor and sports Editor at K24 TV.

At first, nobody at the station, including the management knew the two are couples until Abulla broke the news to his Colleagues. Since both are eloquent Swahili news anchors and perfectly match, the station is now considering pairing them to present K24 news at 7 PM.
Other than News Reading, Mariam will also be a news editor and a producer

Mariam has experience of over 5 years in the media industry. Prior to her new home, she was a Swahili New anchor at KU TV before moving to now-defunct Switch TV. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication from Kenyatta University.
Abulla and Mariam got married in a colorful Swahili wedding on 11 January 2017 in Kilifi and are blessed with one child.

The two would be the second married couple to anchor news together in the republic of Kenya, should their dream materialize.
Others who have been tapped by Mediamax owned station are Ebru TV long-serving political affairs reporterJeff Khaemba, Former switch tv’s Reuben Wanjau who will now head the promo department, and Brian Masheti formerly at KTN as a cameraman.
