Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has launched a scathing rebuke against the Kenya Kwanza administration, castigating its egregious misallocation of resources while millions of Kenyans languish in destitution. In his impassioned address, Kalonzo condemned the government’s extravagant expenditure on the Haiti peacekeeping mission, branding it a flagrant dereliction of duty at the expense of the suffering populace.
“It is both reprehensible and unconscionable that while Kenyans are reeling from economic hardship, the government is siphoning resources into an ill-advised foreign mission. Our healthcare system is in shambles, HIV patients are deprived of life-saving medication, yet this administration chooses to parade itself on the international stage rather than addressing the plight of its own citizens,” Kalonzo thundered.
The former Vice President further lamented the harrowing conditions of retirees, many of whom are teetering on the precipice of destitution due to egregious delays in pension disbursement. He decried the systemic neglect that has reduced once-dignified civil servants to pauperism, castigating the government for its gross dereliction of duty.
“The sheer indignity with which our retirees are treated is an indictment of this administration’s moral bankruptcy. These are individuals who toiled relentlessly to build this nation, yet they are now condemned to a life of penury, abandoned to the cruel whims of fate. It is nothing short of a national disgrace,” he asserted.
Kalonzo did not spare President William Ruto from his blistering critique, excoriating him for diplomatic miscalculations that have led to Kenya’s loss of the lucrative tea export market in Sudan. He lamented that the diplomatic debacle had inflicted irreparable economic damage, imperiling the livelihoods of countless farmers and undermining Kenya’s position as a key player in the global tea trade.
“The erosion of our trade ties with Sudan is emblematic of this government’s ineptitude. Tea is a cornerstone of our economy, yet due to a lack of foresight and strategic diplomacy, we have ceded a crucial market, leaving our farmers bereft of income and our economy hemorrhaging billions. This level of economic sabotage is unconscionable,” he fumed.
The Wiper leader called for urgent corrective measures, insisting that the government must recalibrate its priorities and channel resources toward alleviating the suffering of its people. He implored the administration to fortify pension schemes, rejuvenate the healthcare sector, and restore Kenya’s economic standing through prudent governance rather than indulging in profligate foreign escapades.
His remarks echo the growing public discontent over escalating economic hardships, with many Kenyans increasingly disillusioned by an administration they once entrusted with their future
