Cricket Kenya is hosting the Women’s T20 International Cricket Tournament from 13th-21st December 2022 at the Gymkhana in Nairobi.
This year’s Women’s Quadrangular series, sponsored by betting company Dafabet, will feature Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Qatar.
According to Kenya women’s Cricket Director Ms Pearlyne Omamo, The event will be an exciteful considering women cricket has been in a coma for five years. She also said going forward the event will be on an annual basis.
‘’This is a good start. We have a good team that comprises experienced and upcoming stars. Our hope is to win the tournament. The other 3 nations also have good cricketers whom we highly respect. And Yes, there has been no tournament for more than five year, therefore we just don’t want to develop women teams in Kenya alone but at regional level as well’’ said Pearlyne
Pearlyne was speaking during a joint press briefing of the four participant nations where Kenya unveiled its 14 strong Cricketers.

The team will be captain by Queentor Abel in a squad that includes Sharon Juma, Mary Wambui, Esther Wangare, Vanessa Adhiambo and Lavenda Alivitsa
Others in the team are Melvin Khagoista, Veronica Abuga,Daisy Njoroge, Monicah Ndhambi, Flavia Atieno, Josephine Abwom Mercy Ahono and  Kelvia Achieno.
Pearlyne has however revealed that the winner of this tourney will part away with nothing but it will be used by the teams to improve on their ranking at the, International Cricket Council (ICC) and as well as a good opportunity for exposure by the girls.
Host Kenya will kick off the match against Uganda at 10:30 am then followed another Kenyan encounter with Tanzania at 2:30 Pm
