By Steve El Sabai

Charles Ochome, the Chairperson of the Kenya Private Schools Association (KPSA), has issued a strong appeal to the Ministry of Education to resolve the ongoing issue of withheld examination results. He expressed deep concern over the psychological toll the delays have taken on learners and their families, urging swift action to restore trust in the education system.

Speaking on behalf of private school stakeholders, Ochome emphasized that the uncertainty surrounding the withheld results has disrupted students’ academic progress and caused widespread anxiety among parents. “This situation is unacceptable. Our children and their families deserve clarity and fairness,” he stated.

Ochome called on all relevant stakeholders to collaborate to address the problem’s root causes. He also highlighted the need for systemic reforms to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future. “It is crucial to establish transparency and accountability in the examination process. This will ensure that our education system remains credible and reliable,” he added.

The KPSA Chair reaffirmed the association’s commitment to working with the Ministry of Education and other involved parties to resolve the matter promptly. He assured the public of KPSA’s readiness to support initiatives aimed at restoring fairness and stability in the education sector.

Despite the urgency of the issue, the Ministry of Education has yet to provide an update on the status of the investigations or a timeline for resolving the crisis. Meanwhile, families affected by the withheld results continue to grapple with uncertainty and frustration, awaiting much-needed answers.

This developing story underscores the critical need for swift action to safeguard the interests of Kenya’s learners and the integrity of its education system.
