As the campaigns in the country become more tense day by day with the election day closer and politicians doing their best to win. One member of parliament has also been putting his best foot forward in the campaigns.
Lungalunga member of parliament Khatib Mwashetani is mourning the death of his four staff numbers. The four were involved in a gruesome road accident in the Lungalunga area.
The car rolled several times with 5 occupants in it. Three occupants died on the spot while the other two were rushed to the hospital and one later died. Speaking about the incident the OCPD of the area said the flowing. “They were coming from Kanana heading to Lungalunga when the vehicle got a tyre bust and rolled. Preliminary investigations show the vehicle could have been at high speed”.
The four were coming from a campaign for the MP and were part of his campaign team. In his long Facebook post, the lawmaker mourned his staff. “With great sorrow, I mean the death of my team members who succumbed to injuries when they were involved in a road accident along the Mombasa-Lungalunga at Bandu area in Lungalunga sub-county.” He stated in the post.
The MP claimed that the car accident that took the lives of his staff including his driver was tampered with.
The wreckage was taken to the nearest police station and the bodies to the nearest mortuary. It is important to note that the MP was not among the occupants of the vehicle.
