Ferdinand Omanyala recently failed to even qualify for the final of the 100M race back in the U.S.A after a very terrible ordeal in the Airport that he had to go through before arriving in the United States of America.
Omanyala arrived in America late because he had issues that had to be solved first before he was cleared for travel.
He arrived in America late and headed for the truck straight from the Airport after hours of traveling.
He left America not a very happy man something that even made Kenyans bash the cabinet secretary for sports Amina Mohammed and her daughter on allegations that they were using opportunities availed to athletes for their own gain.
The Athletic Kenya board was not left spared as Kenyans questioned the number of officials who attended the athletic competitions in the U.S.A which was way bigger than the number of participating athletes in the event and even some athletes were forced to stay behind.
It did not take Omanyala long to prove to Kenyans that he is the big deal in the 100M race as yesterday the African Champion clocked 10.02 seconds to win the men’s 100M race in the Birmingham Common Wealth games.
Omanyala is the first Kenyan to win in the race at that stage since 1962 after it was won by Seraphino Antao who won gold in 100M and 200M respectively that year.
As Kenyans, we are proud and can’t wait to celebrate our hero in style when he comes back, what a proud moment to be a Kenyan. And its also good to note that sports bring Kenyans together even during these tense political temperatures. When our athletes win, they don’t win for Azimio or Kenya Kwanza, they win for Kenyans. Hongera Omanyala and the entire team from Kenya as they continue to represent us out there.
