A police boss from the Traffic Department who led the team to grill the controversial preacher Pastor James Ng’ang’a over a road accident that killed Ms. Mercy Njeri is dead.
Officer Charlton Muriithi who was the Traffic Commandant in the year 2015 and led the team of his juniors in grilling the controversial preacher passed away at Kenyatta National Hospital where he was being treated.
A statement from the Capital Hill police station said that their colleague Mr. Muriith was unwell and was admitted to the Kenya National Hospital (KNH) and went to be with the Lord in the early morning of Friday, 19th August 2022.
“He was undergoing cancer treatment at the said facility (Kenyatta National Hospital). The message was shared by his brother and also confirmed by officers from the KNH police post,” part of the statement from Vigilant house reads.
The late Mureithi who has served in several top positions within the National Police Service (NPS) hit news headlines continuously during the accident that involved a red Range Rover belonging to the Neno Evangelism Church Pastor Ng’ang’a.
The trouble began when the family of Ms. Njeri said that they were not satisfied with the Officers from Tigoni Police Station and sought to get assistance from the former Inspector General of Police (IG) Joseph Boinnet who ordered that the matter be handled by now deceased Mr. Charlton Muriithi.
