The ODM Party Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna would comfortably be elected as Nairobi senator should the election be held today. According to the latest opinion poll by Infotrak firm, Sifuna would garner about 44 % of the votes. He would be followed by former Starehe MP Bishop Margaret Wanjiru of UDA with 12%.
However, Sifuna might be far yet from the celebration as the poll showed many Nairobians are still undecided about the senate seat. 39% of the respondents say they have not made up their minds on who to vote for.
This means that, if Bishop Wanjiru manages to convince the whole blog of undecided, then she would easily beat Sifuna. For the SG, he only needs a quarter of the undecided voter to be the 3rd senator of Nairobi.
In the women rep category, Esther Pasaris is in a commanding lead against UDA’s Millicent Omanga. according to Infotrak, Passaris would be re-elected by 46% followed by Omanga who has 20% popularity. Again, whoever wins the huge blog of the undecided voters, 34%, would convincingly carry the day.
in the presidential category, Azimio presidential flagbearer Raila Odinga has extended his lead in Nairobi County.
The survey shows that Raila enjoys 49 percent of support in Nairobi County followed by the DP who had 30 percent.
In a survey released by Infotrak in June, Raila had 41 percent representing a 7 percent increase while Ruto had 38. Thus the DP has dropped 8 points.
The survey found that the ODM leader received massive support because of his development track record and experience in leadership.
Ruto’s plan for the country earned him 41 percent support compared to Raila who got 19 percent.
