Ruth who is the only child said that she is the only one in their family who is not ready to follow in her father’s footsteps
Ruth was married to a Nigerian pastor John Apewajo who succumbed to burns after a fire accident at their home just three weeks after they had learned they were expecting their first child.
According to the reports, John filled their cooking gas cylinder but found it excessively pressurized. He would then take the cylinder to the balcony to release the excess gas. He lit it before it was all out.
John and Ruth Matete had dated for about two years and eight months before having a private wedding in 2019.
