Former Nairobi County governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has promised to throw a party for ten good days for Ferdinand Omanyala after winning a first gold medal in the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Omanyala clocked 10:02 seconds in windy conditions to become the first Kenyan since Seraphine Antao in 1960 to win gold in the sprints at a major championship.
According to the former govenor he is plaaning to welcome the gold medalist Omanyala with 10 limousines and throw a 10 day party to celebrate his win.
“Mulipokuwa mumelala munaota Mkenya mmoja ambae ni fastest man Africa nzima Ferdinand Omanyala ameshindia nchi ya Kenya gold at the Commonwealth Games, clocking 10.02 seconds. Pongezi sana na serikali ikikubali nitakupangia sherehe kubwa ya kukulaki na limousines 15 zikupokee na nikufanyie shereye ya 10 days na nikupee limo moja bure iwe yako. Twakupenda sana for making us proud,” he posted.
