Three women were yesterday arrested in Kagio Market in Kirinyaga County after they allegedly drugged and stole from a Catholic Nun in Kirinyaga County.
According to the Kirinyaga Police Boss, Mathew Mang’ira, the three suspects who had a standby car drugged the nun before driving off and later dumping her near Kagio Catholic Church.
“The three women had parted away with Ksh.17,000 shillings belonging to the Catholic nun, who is in-charge of a local primary school in Mutithi Ward in Mwea. We have recovered the money,” he said.
Irate members of the public who were bailing for their blood frog matched the suspects to the nearby Kagio police station for interrogation.
“The nun was talking to the three women before her driver came searching for her. He however suspected that something was amiss since she had taken long to return to their vehicle,” one of the witnesses said.
One of the people who work at the Kagio market told Citizen Digital that the nurse driver raised an alarm with the Boda Boda’s who responded swiftly.
