Kevin Kioko alias Bahati on Monday afternoon came out loud and refuted claims that he had bowed out of the Mathare race.
In a press briefing on Monday afternoon, Bahati said that he was still in the race to unseat the incumbent Anthony Oluoch of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Bahati also said that last week he was summoned to a meeting that was chaired by the former Westlands Member Of Parliament Fred Gumo, Former Makadara Member Of Parliament Reuben, and CAS Rachel Shebesh among other leaders where he was told that he was leading and that he was the people’s favorite.
He further stated that he was requested to step down for the ODM’S candidate Anthony Oluoch who is also campaigning for the second term.
Bahati revealed that he later met Shebesh privately where she told him that she was supporting Oluoch because cannot “support a youth”
He also alleged that ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna who had earlier in the day announced that Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance’s support for Oluoch, was bribed.
“@ediwnsifuna Ushalambishwa mita tatu na my loosing opponent to lie that I have stepped down and “you” will offer me a job in the AZIMIO government??? Unanipea Kazi Kama Nani..? Kaa mbali na siasa ya Mathare , FAGIA KWAKO AMA UTASHINDWA TENA KAMA 2017,” Bahati tweeted.
He said that official communication can only come from his Jubilee Party.
