Veteran Radio host Edward Kwach has passed away at the age of 52 while undergoing treatment for meningitis.
In a statement issued through their family spokesperson, Michael Okwiri, on Tuesday, 29th April 2025, shared that Carey died on the night of April 28th 2025.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our cherished son and brother, Carey,” the family said in a statement.
Kwach was known for his vibrant voice, quick wit, and passion for music. Kwach was a prominent figure in Kenya’s radio industry for more than 20 years.
He gained national recognition in the early 2000s, winning over audiences with his relaxed demeanour and rich musical selections on stations like Capital FM and later Homeboyz Radio.
At the time of his death, Kwach was hosting shows on Spice FM, a station under the Standard Group Media banner.
His broadcasts were celebrated for their soulful music, engaging pop culture discussions, and lighthearted humour, which resonated with listeners of all ages.
“He will be remembered not only for his warmth and humour but also for his exceptional taste in music, which brought joy and comfort to countless people,” the family added.
