Musician Stanley Nakoche popularly known as Nakoche Msela has now revealed why he quit professional football and joined Music.
Nackoche said Kenyan football nearly ruined his life since he could not earn a living from it.
”Sometimes I could get Ksh 50 or 100 bob as a match allowance which could not sustain me. many a time I would walk from Kawangware to either Nyayo, Camp Toyoyo, or even Kasarani stadium for training or for a match” said Nakoche
He also revealed that in football, a mistake of an individual player sometimes is taken as a collective blunder. This means a hard-working player would as well suffer as a result of poor display from their teammates.
”I drop football because when an individual messes up and you end up losing a game, the entire team or club would be blamed. This seriously affects the morale of a hard-working player” added Nakoche
Nakoche started his football career at Chavakali (chava) high school in Vihiga county before moving to Vapor Sports which is currently in Division 1 Zone A-league after which he was later signed with Makongeni based-club MASA FC (Makongeni Sports association)
He would then Secure a chance at former Harambee stars coach Jacob ”ghost” Mulee’s Liberty academy then moved to JMJ Academy but all in vain.
The Ndoto Takatifu singer did not lose hope and was lucky to secure a chance and went to the Qatar-based academy Aspire Football. He spent almost a year in the Arab Nation but things didn’t work out and he decided to return home.

It is at this point that Nakoche decided to quit football and fully venture into his second God-given talent, Music.
He recalls while still at Chava, his classmates would give him something small as he entertained them with music.
” My classmates encouraged me not to let go of my Talent in music. At some point, they conducted a fund-drive to help me record my fast song, the audio” recalls Nakoche.
After making up his mind not to return to soccer anymore, the 22-year old who is now a darling of many local TV stations with his songs, decided to fully focus on how to release the videos of the songs he had composed.

”Recording a video song is very expensive. It runs from around 70k. but I did not give up. Luckily, well-wishers including Jalango and former schoolmates helped me until I released my fast video song” he revealed.
some of the songs Nakoche has so far released are Iwe Ivyo, Ndoto Takatifu, Nimetoka Mbali, Si Rahisi, Nilianza Nawe and Kalamu
Due to his resilience and hard-working, Nakoshe secured a job at Jalango tv where he is currently working.

He hopes that music will not only be his breakthrough in life but will also enables him to uplift the life of his peers in Kawagware where he was born.
